Changes to licensing requirements for the import of China Textile products to the EU

Effective immediately, the EU* has lifted certain regulations on textile products imported from mainland China, including the eight types of textile** that were monitored in 2008.

Export licenses for textiles bound for the EU# are no longer required. However certificates of origin are still required for textile products bound for the EU and shippers should continue to apply to the relevant agencies.

* EU members include Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Holland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
** The eight types of textile products that  were monitored in 2008 are: type 4, type 5, type 6, type 7, type 20, type 26, type 31 and type 115
# The full name of the Export License to EU (English version) is The Export License for Textile Products Exporting to EU. The full name of the Export License to EU (Chinese version) is The Temporary Export License for Textile Products of P.R.China.
