FedEx Unveils Expanded Facility in Bali

New Warehouse Answers Growing Demand for Logistics Support

JAKARTA, October 10, 2003 - FedEx Express (FedEx), the world’s largest express transportation company, operating in Indonesia through its global service provider, Repex, unveiled expanded facilities in Bali to serve increasing demand for logistics and shipping services.

FedEx facilities in Bali now include its enlarged office and a new warehouse in Denpasar as well as a World Service Center in Ubud. The Denpasar office has been renovated to accommodate the 32 employees responsible for FedEx’s ground and air activities.

The new warehouse, with over 1,600 cubic metres of storage, will support the logistics needs of customers who produce high-value goods, such as silver jewelry, and wooden and handicrafts, and other goods that require FedEx's guaranteed and reliable delivery, and who need secure and convenient storage as part of the export process for their products.

"Having witnessed the growth of business activity in Bali, FedEx is committed to investing in infrastructure and upgrading the services we offer in Bali," said Ramesh Kumar Singam, FedEx Express Managing Director for Singapore and Indonesia.

In Ubud, FedEx will be able to serve a growing number of customers, including resident business people as well as tourists, directly at the World Service Center, which functions as a bricks-and-mortar extension of the Denpasar office.

"Aside from improvements made in the facilities, FedEx has also made capital investments in its ground fleet in Bali." Said Mr. Singam. "Three delivery vans have been upgraded, and an additional two ton truck has been added to handle increased customer consignments."

"FedEx has the infrastructure and services in Bali that can deliver Indonesia to the world, and the world to Indonesia. Our customers recognise the strength of the FedEx air network in speed and reliability of getting their products to market, just as visitors to the island rely on FedEx to send reminders of their trip home" concluded Mr. Singam.

With annual revenues of $22 billion, FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) is the premier global provider of transportation, e-commerce and supply chain management services. The company offers integrated business solutions through a network of subsidiaries operating independently, including: FedEx Express, the world's largest express transportation company; FedEx Ground, North America's second largest provider of small-package ground delivery service; FedEx Freight, the largest U.S. provider of regional less-than-truckload freight services; FedEx Custom Critical, North America's largest provider of expedited time-critical shipments; and FedEx Trade Networks, North America's largest customs broker and a provider of international freight forwarding and trade facilitation services.
