Printable Version Fish and Wildlife Exports into the U.S.


FedEx Express now clears commodities regulated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at five of our six express gateway locations - Memphis, Tenn.; Anchorage, Alaska; Newark, N.J.; Miami, Fla.; and Oakland, Calif. Fish and wildlife commodities can now be exported into the U.S. using all FedEx® international services* (these commodities may require additional time for clearance).  Please note that an ancillary charge for fish and wildlife clearance will be applied to each shipment.



Special Requirements
Wildlife shipments require a FedEx® International Air Waybill, a detailed Commercial Invoice and at least one or more of the following documents:

  • Fish and wildlife Import and Export License - issued to the U.S. importer.
  • Original copy of Export Permit from the origin country.
  • Original copy of Import Permit from the destination country.
  • Original copy of Certificate of Origin.
  • Packing list.
  • Other commodity-specific documentation.

Prohibited Items
FedEx Express prohibits the following wildlife commodities:


  • Live animals.
  • Perishable food items.
  • Hunting trophies, such as taxidermy.
  • Live or dead wildlife under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, such as plants or parts of plants.

Please note that any wildlife shipments that require fish and wildlife clearance by FedEx at the port of export in the U.S. will continue to be prohibited from all door-to-door international delivery services.
