TAIPEI, Jan 20, 2001 --FedEx, the world's leading express transportation company, has the honor to accept the invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Taiwan to take part in rescue work in El Salvador. 5,000 kilograms of the first relief aids shipped yesterday include medical equipment, sleeping bags and blankets, and will be delivered to those quake victims as soon as possible.

Due to the urgency of this delivery and capability of its integrated solutions for delivering shipments, FedEx was selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) among other international transportation companies. Jimmy Chen, Managing Director of FedEx Taiwan said: "We are honored to provide this service at this critical moment by using our own fleet and integrating FedEx's global network advantage to assist the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and deliver relief aids from Taiwan to the victims in El Salvador in the shortest time possible.
