FedEx Launches Industry's First Customer Loyalty Program
SINGAPORE, January 26, 2000 - Small is beautiful! Federal Express
Corp (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company,
today announced a loyalty program that rewards small customers for
using its services, a first in the express transportation industry.
The company's Business Bonus program, unlike other loyalty programs
that only recognise the 'bigger' customers, rewards customers who
ship in smaller volumes.
"Small customers and those companies that don't ship as much are
no less important to us than our larger customers. We have developed
different programs and incentives for different customer segments.
We may not be able to spend a lot of face time with our smaller
customers compared to our larger ones. But with this program, we
want to ensure that our smaller customers know that they too are
important to us," said Mr. Malcolm Sullivan, Managing Director for
Marketing, FedEx South Pacific.
Customers can accumulate points from shipping with FedEx and exchange
these points for gift vouchers that include food and beverage vouchers
at the Hilton, Marina Mandarin, the Ritz Carlton, Meritus Negara,
Tradewinds Travel vouchers, ice-cream vouchers from Haagen-Dazs
vouchers and shopping vouchers from Tower Records and Takashimaya.
