FedEx introduces suite of E-Commerce solutions

New services tailored to meet specific supply chain needs of customers

TAIPEI, January 28, 2000 -- Federal Express Corporation ("FedEx"), the world's largest express transportation company, today unveiled a range of new e-commerce services. This new suite of services provides customers in Asia with tailored electronic-commerce solutions over the Internet that further streamline their supply chains and distribution systems.

The FedEx suite of e-commerce services offers solutions for the differing needs of customers doing business on-line from virtual shopping and shipping to inventory management and procurement.

  • Virtual Order PlusTM : An electronic-commerce solution that enables a retailer to easily set up an electronic on-line storefront and provide its customers with a display of its goods, special deals and promotions. Customers can select goods and make payments in a variety of ways via a secure link and arrange shipping on-line.
  • GIVSshipTM : An electronic-commerce solution that empowers merchants to use their order number to ship and track packages directly without leaving the merchant website.
  • Global Inventory Visibility System™ : An electronic inventory-management system that allows companies, using FedEx's warehouse logistics services, to efficiently access via the Internet updated information on inventory stock located virtually anywhere in the world. Companies can also place orders on-line to ship their stock from FedEx's warehouse to the customer.
  • FullViewTM : An electronic-commerce solution that offers buyers and merchants an on-line business trading platform comprising integrated logistics, transportation and other value-added services and provides the flexibility of a one-stop shop for on-line supply chain management.
