MEDAN, February 19, 2000 - Federal Express Corporation (FedEx),
through its sole licensee in Indonesia, PT Repex Perdana International,
opened officially today a new service center in Medan, North Sumatra,
to accommodate the growing export business in the area.
This new service center will provide connectivity to international
transportation services for the province's export industries --
furniture, textiles, and other local products.
"The opening of the new Medan service center shows our commitment
to the province's growing export industry. It also emphasizes our
strong support to the country's endeavors towards economic recovery
and development," said Harsha E. Joesoef, President Director of
PT Repex Perdana International.
The new service center brings to six the total number of service
stations that FedEx has in Indonesia. There are also 28 drop-off
location throughout the country. The new service center will not
only serve Medan but also the adjacent provinces of Pekanbaru (Riau)
and Palembang (South Sumatera). The FedEx service center in Medan
