local companies to innovate and adopt e-commerce as part of their
core business initiative. This is important for them to be able
to compete in the digital economy".
"At no other time in history have small businesses been able to
compete on a level playing field with the bigger companies. The
Internet has brought about unparalleled business opportunities for
the small business by providing them with global marketing, advertising,
sales and distribution resource. Further the Internet has enabled
them to seamlessly integrate their business with supply chain management
solutions provided by experts like FedEx", continued Mr. Yin.
FedEx will be speaking to the SMEs in the various states on how
companies can re-examine their business odels and use e-commerce
to deliver greater value to their customers.
"Most SMEs in the country are aware to some extent of e-commerce
and its importance, but few have an understanding of the way to
adopt a suitable strategy", said Luiz Tung, Managing Director of
Malaysia. "Our objective is to help these SMEs realize the potential
of e-commerce by providing local companies with one-stop shop solutions
that will help them sharpen their competitiveness and enhance customer
satisfaction".
