FedEx Launches Chinese Version of FedEx interNetShip®

First express transportation company to offer chinese language internet-based shipping application in asia

BEIJING, March 22, 2000 -- Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company, recently launched the Chinese version of its latest Internet-based shipping application - FedEx interNetShip®. FedEx customers can now access the new software at the company's China-specific web page, which is available at FedEx's global web site, www.fedex.com.

FedEx interNetShip® is designed to bring total shipping automation right to customers' desktops. This new technological application is a great boon for shippers, enabling them to ship to more than 200 destinations worldwide and print shipment documentation from their own internet-linked computers and laser printers. Shipping details and delivery information are made available instantly on-line to both shippers and their recipients.

"FedEx's introduction of the Chinese FedEx interNetShip® is another significant benefit to Chinese customers after FedEx launched the Chinese web page last November," said Eddy Chan, FedEx's regional vice president for China and Mid Pacific Region. "It reinforces FedEx's commitment to addressing the needs of customers in China. FedEx is dedicated to providing the world-class service to customers in China that are synonymous with FedEx standards worldwide."

The new Chinese FedEx interNetShip® enables FedEx customers in China to fill out a FedEx Air Waybill on line in their local language instead of handwriting the information. The customers may also use a laser printer to print the Air Waybill on plain paper. The FedEx interNetShip® allows customers to create their own address book with up to 300 names and addresses so that customers will not have to retype recipient's information. In addition, the FedEx Ship AlertTM feature of FedEx interNetShip® can automatically send e-mail notification to up to three recipients and to the shipper itself when the package has been sent. Via the FedEx's Chinese web page, customers can track and receive package status information for up to 25 shipments simultaneously, and forward the detailed tracking results to up to three email addresses.
