New services provide customers greater access and faster links to FedEx network
JOHOR BAHRU, April 27, 1999 - Federal Express Corp., the world's
largest express transportation company, today announced the launch
of new services in Johor Bahru, through its agent. This new service
is in response to increased demand for inbound and outbound air
express services in the rapidly-expanding industrial state.
The new service offers FedEx immediate access to customers in Johor Bahru where FedEx has experienced significant growth in demand for services. This growth can be attributed to the increase in the small and medium-sized business sector, which has led to strong demand for time-definite air express services, both in and out of the region.
Occupying an area of 1,036.8 square meters, the station features
a sorting and distribution center with a FedEx World Service Center
(WSC) for walk-in customers. It will also provide ease of access
for customers who will be able to drop-off their shipments.
"We are very excited about this new service into Johor Bahru, which
will bring us closer to our customers here", said Luiz Tung, FedEx's
Managing Director for Malaysia. "This service will allow us to increase
our speed and reliability in the delivery of shipments to and from
the region, while also increasing our access. We will be able to
provide our customers with earlier delivery and improved response
times".
"Customers will be able to enjoy FedEx's excellent service by well
trained staff whose goal is to provide total customer satisfaction,"
added Mr. Tung.
"These new services are part of our efforts to support Johor Bahru
as an industrial center. We will provide the business community
there with faster connectivity to the FedEx AsiaOne and global network.
FedEx customers in Johor Bahru will receive a truly world class
service delivered by the best in the business," said David Cunningham,
Regional Vice President, FedEx South Pacific.
