Press Releases
HONG KONG, May 19, 2000 - Federal Express Corporation (FedEx),
the world's largest express transportation company, has once again
been appointed as the Official Air Express Company for the local
exhibition activities of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council
(HKTDC). This continued appointment further reaffirms FedEx's quality
express service in the Hong Kong market.
Beginning September 1, 2000, FedEx will continue to be the Official
Air Express Company for HKTDC trade fairs for a period of two years.
Lynda Sun Lee, FedEx's Managing Director of Marketing, China and
Mid Pacific Region, and Benjamin Chau, Chief Manager of Exhibitions
at HKTDC recently signed the agreement at an official ceremony.
"We are honored to be appointed again as the official air express
company for HKTDC trade fairs," said Mrs. Lynda Lee. "This appointment
highlights FedEx's longstanding strength and capabilities in the
express transportation industry. By flying our own aircraft, FedEx
is in full control of its loading capacity and thus is able to provide
Hong Kong's small-and-medium-sized companies with a much higher
level of assurance for heavyweight shipments."
The appointment complements FedEx's commitment to local small-and-medium-sized
enterprises by providing fast and reliable international express
service - both into and out of Hong Kong. FedEx will be able to
bring the company's innovative and dependable services to more trading
arenas as a result of the HKTDC appointment.
Mr. Chau of Hong Kong Trade Development Council commented during
the signing ceremony, "FedEx has demonstrated its superb service
quality over the past two years and we are happy with their service.
We are confident that FedEx will continue to provide our members
with this strong service commitment."
